What is an End-Of-Life Doula?

also known as Pet Death Doula

Many people consider their pets as members of the family, not just an animal.

So, when a beloved dog, cat, bird, horse, or other companion animal is nearing their end-of-life, the stress of decision-making along with the demands of caregiving can easily become overwhelming.

That is where the End-of-Life Doula comes in.

It is my mission to provide comfort, care, and support for a loving pet parent and their pet to create a memorable final experience.

As an End-Of-Life Doula I offer knowledge, wisdom, and insight, promote healthy discussion and planning, and advocate for the wishes of the dying pet and their family.

It is important to note that a doula does not take the place of medical or veterinarian professionals, hospice care, or professional therapists and grief counselors.

Rather, the doula’s role is to help the family plan and navigate through end-of-life transition of the pet.

Of course, death is still death and doesn’t always go as planned. Adding a doula to the mix doesn’t always guarantee that your pet’s final days will be peaceful and serene.

Medical emergencies happen, grief and stress can overwhelm, and life can get chaotic.

In these situations, the help of a calm, dispassionate, and non-partisan doula can be even more important.
